Job description

Job Description Park Nicollet Clinic/HealthPartners Care Group Faculty, Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program Minneapolis, MN The University of Minnesota-Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program is recruiting a full-time/near full-time physician faculty with or without obstetrics. We are a competitive 6-6-6, university-sponsored, community-based residency located in St. Louis Park, a first-ring suburb of Minneapolis with a diverse patient population.

Duties include hospital rounding and hospital call, precepting in clinic (including prenatal, pediatric, adult & older adult, and office procedures), resident mentoring and advising, and scholarly activity including curriculum development and research. The ideal candidate will have post graduate clinical practice and resident teaching experience. Faculty development will be enhanced for those new to academic medicine.

Candidates with ongoing prenatal and birthing care skills are a highly desired addition to our faculty group. In addition to a commitment to excellence in resident education and patient care, the traits of curiosity, humility, flexibility, and ability to work in a group are highly desired. Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital boasts a historically rich culture of teaching and education and has been host to our residency since the specialty's inception.

It is part of the HealthPartners family, a not-for-profit integrated health care organization providing health care services and health plan financing and administration. The University of Minnesota is the graduate medical education sponsor of the residency and residents and faculty participate in educational experiences with the UMN Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Salary and benefits are competitive and comparable to family physicians in practice.

Additional compensation is offered both for faculty who round inpatient and for those who practice OB. Specific job duties will be dependent on faculty member's interests and FTE; anticipate approximately 50% resident teaching, 30% clinical practice, and 20% scholarly activity and administration of resident education. For more information, contact Missy Fisher, director of clinician recruitment, at missy.l.fisher@healthpartners.com
