Primary Role:

A Project Manager (PM) for our Overhead and Underground departments in Capitol Heights, MD is a self-motivated, hardworking team player with excellent communication skills. As a PM you will play a critical role with our Operations team, lead complex initiatives end to end, plan, execute and complete various power utility projects while maintaining effective oversight on budget, schedule, and risk.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ongoing communication externally with the customer and internally with our crew scheduler regarding project needs, progress, goals, timelines, and efficiency
  • Monitor daily work completion and identify required actions to maintain schedule adherence
  • Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly project status and progress reports
  • Review project documents and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Develop utility permit applications and follow up with jurisdictions regarding inspections and compliance requirements
  • Draft change orders, including scope of work, schedules of values, and associated timelines
  • Bid and contract document preparation, material requisitions, and procurement activities
  • Perform administrative functions including invoicing, issuing and modifying purchase orders, and comprehensive project data entry
  • Schedule Miss Utility tickets to support job-specific construction needs

Minimum Requirements:

  • Self-directed professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proven problem-solver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
  • Learn and become proficient with the following systems: AS8, GIS, Miss Utility, Microsoft Suite, Vista.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and workplace technology
  • Associate's degree in construction management or relevant field experience (Preferred)
  • Background in electric utility industry (Preferred)
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office/Excel (Preferred)
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen
