Job Summary:
Delaware Park Casino is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to join their MIS department. The role involves monitoring and maintaining the Cisco network infrastructure, supporting senior engineers, and assisting with network security and operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the overall monitoring, health, and performance of the Cisco network (switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure).
• Support senior 3rd party engineers in configuring and maintaining LAN, WAN, and VLANs across the organization.
• Help troubleshoot network issues and escalate to senior team members as needed.
• Assist with implementing network security best practices, including access control, patching, and firewall rule updates.
• Responsible for network documentation, including diagrams, inventories, and configuration records.
• Support daily operational tasks such as port activations, cable tracing, equipment labeling, and hardware installations.
• Maintain network monitoring tools and respond to alerts.
• Assist with backup and restoration processes for network-related systems.
• Support workstation, server, and network equipment imaging, configuration, and deployment tasks.
• Participate in routine preventive maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects under guidance from senior staff.
• Maintain strong customer service standards when assisting employees with connectivity issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the MIS department.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum seven (5) years in MIS and the Computer Industry.
• Experience managing Microsoft Windows Systems
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPN).
• Solid understanding of ASA/Firepower firewalls and network security fundamentals.
• Strong experience with Cisco WAN, LAN, and WIFI equipment and software
• Strong experience with Cisco IOS, Nexus OS experience is a MUST
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the business, including weekends and holidays.
