Job Description Ready to help build the platform that powers enterprise AI. Our client, a leading organization in a highly regulated industry, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a growing AI Platform team responsible for creating the foundational services, tools, and engineering standards that enable secure, scalable AI adoption across the enterprise. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll design and build the platform capabilities that support AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, and next-generation automation.

You'll collaborate with architects, product leaders, and engineering teams to create reusable services that make AI development faster, safer, and more consistent. What You'll Do As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll help define the technical direction of a modern AI platform while remaining actively involved in engineering and solution design. Responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise AI platform services and cloud-native applications.

Build reusable APIs, SDKs, templates, and shared platform capabilities that accelerate AI development across multiple teams. Develop scalable backend services using modern cloud and event-driven architectures. Design secure, observable, and highly available platform solutions.

Partner with engineering, architecture, product, and governance teams to establish AI engineering standards and best practices. Help build capabilities around model access, knowledge retrieval, prompt management, workflow orchestration, and AI service integration. Participate in architecture reviews, proof of concepts, and technical innovation initiatives.

Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices. Drive improvements in automation, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and platform reliability. Preferred Technical Experience AWS cloud services including Lambda, CDK, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, ECS/EC2, CloudWatch, Bedrock, Aurora/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Glue, and AWS Batch.

Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or similar frameworks. Backend application development using RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. AI platform development, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows, knowledge retrieval, prompt management, or related AI engineering concepts.

Enterprise security, authentication, authorization, audit logging, and compliance in regulated environments. CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar automation tools. Observability, telemetry, performance monitoring, and operational excellence.

Real-time messaging or event streaming architectures. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent experience).

Strong background in cloud-native application development. Experience building reusable platform services rather than one-off applications. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership. Experience working within Agile software development teams. Passion for continuous learning and emerging technologies, particularly AI.

Bonus Qualifications AWS Certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Developer, etc.) Experience building AI infrastructure or internal developer platforms. Background in healthcare, financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry. Experience participating in innovation initiatives, hackathons, or proof-of-concept projects

Why You'll Love This Opportunity Help define the future of enterprise AI adoption. Build the platform that enables dozens of engineering teams to deliver AI-powered solutions. Work with cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies.

Influence technical architecture and engineering standards across the organization. Collaborate with experienced engineers in an innovative, highly visible team. Hybrid work environment with strong opportunities for technical growth and leadership.

If you're passionate about cloud engineering, AI infrastructure, and building scalable platforms that empower other developers, we'd love to connect.
