Senior/Lead Business Systems Analyst
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA or Denver, CO
Duration: Long Term
Job Description Summary
Work in alignment with senior actuarial and technology leadership to ensure strategic planning, execution and delivery based on business approved goals and objectives with an IT component.
Will serve as a dedicated IT resource with expert knowledge in the breath of the actuarial workspace. Responsible to facilitate the business analysis process to discover, analyze, and document actuarial business and system solutions including projects, enhancements, BAU, production support and operational needs.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key relationship manager with actuarial business representatives.
  • Expert in the "end to end" processes of actuarial business lines (Annuities, Health, Life, etc.).
  • Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments to align IT solutions with business priorities.
  • Prepare complex documentation for business and system requirements in written and graphical form.
  • Integrate with "depth" experts of the different Actuarial IT delivery teams.
  • Ensure IT has proper representation in all meetings from inception to delivery.
  • Ensure appropriate sign-offs are received for all pieces with an IT component.
  • Confirm actuarial demand for IT services is documented, tracked, and planned for execution.
  • Provide a transparent picture of all work within the Actuarial IT workspace to business and IT partners.
  • Adhere to all approved enterprise intake management processes and standards.
  • Build actuarial understanding of all standards and processes to be followed and their impact on delivery.
  • Work with actuaries to minimize the schedule impact of IT processes where possible.
  • Engage the Financial Integration Services team as needed to provide comprehensive design assessments.
  • Ensure all Actuarial IT commitments releasing to PROD have met the needs of our business partners.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
