To thrive as an MIS Intern, you generally need a strong background in information systems, data analysis, and business processes, often supported by coursework in management information systems or a related field. Familiarity with database management tools (like SQL), Microsoft Excel, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help interns stand out in team-based, project-driven environments. These skills and qualities are crucial for efficiently supporting IT operations, analyzing business data, and contributing to organizational goals.

What types of projects can an MIS intern expect to work on, and how do these experiences contribute to future career opportunities?

As an MIS intern, you will likely work on projects involving data analysis, process improvement, system implementation, and user support. Job description

SAP Security Intern

Federal Way, WA ยท Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 remote) ยท 9-Month Internship ยท $28.94/hour

About Markgraf Consulting

Markgraf Consulting is an SAP consulting and staff augmentation firm headquartered in Federal Way, WA. We specialize in S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, and the surrounding SAP technology stack โ€” Cloud ALM, IAS, BTP Integration Suite, SAC, and Datasphere. We're a tight-knit team that takes Pacific Northwest talent development seriously, and this internship is a real on-ramp into a high-demand SAP career.

About the Role

We're hiring an SAP Security Intern to support our SAP security practice for a 9-month engagement. You'll get hands-on exposure to SAP security administration, GRC, and compliance work under the mentorship of experienced consultants. This is a real seat on a real team โ€” not coffee runs and shadowing. Strong performers will be considered for full-time placement at the end of the internship.

This role is targeted at students graduating in June 2026 and recent graduates who are ready to launch a career in enterprise SAP security.

What You'll Do

Assist with administration and maintenance of user accounts, roles, and authorizations across SAP systems

Support monitoring and review of user access to SAP applications

Participate in SAP security assessments and risk analyses

Help with security audits and compliance assessments

Assist in developing and maintaining SAP security policies, procedures, and standards

Create and maintain clear technical documentation in Confluence

Provide end-user support and training on SAP security policies and procedures

Collaborate with consulting teams and client stakeholders to identify and mitigate risk

Participate in on-call application support as part of a shift-based rotation

Stay current on emerging SAP security trends, threats, and technologies

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress, graduating by September 2026) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Business, or a related field

Basic understanding of information security concepts (authentication, authorization, least privilege)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Clear written and verbal communication, including translating technical issues for non-technical audiences

Strong time management and attention to detail

Legally authorized to work in the United States

No prior SAP Security experience required โ€” we'll teach you the SAP side

Note: applicants with more than 1 year of SAP Security experience will not be considered for this entry-level role

Nice to Have

Coursework or degree focus in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Information Systems (BIS), or Cybersecurity

Prior work experience in customer service-oriented roles

Schedule & Compensation

9-month internship, full-time hours

$28.94/hour (non-exempt)

Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week onsite at our Federal Way, WA office, 1 day remote

Reliable transportation to Federal Way required
