Job Description
The project engineer/manager candidate will be involved with all forms of planning, design, and specialty services related to the stormwater and water resources engineering field. Projects often involve hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain analyses, detention/water quality BMP design, stream restoration, bridge scour, trail design, stormwater management plans, MS4 compliance, and water rights. The ideal candidate will have some project management experience and be eager to continue transitioning into a project management role.
Qualifications
Candidates must have the following:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Approximately 6 to 12 years of experience in the stormwater engineer field
  • A registered professional engineer license in Colorado or ability to obtain one upon hire, and have experience in providing engineering services in the state

Preferred qualifications include the following:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing teams of engineers to provide exceptional engineering services
  • Experience in mentoring less experienced engineers in technical and non-technical aspects of stormwater engineering
  • Experience in business development and client management
  • Practical application of the various hydrology/hydraulics software, including HEC-RAS (1D/2D preferred), HEC-HMS, CUHP, EPASWMM, and HY-8
  • Experience in developing and guiding construction plan packages and/or master planning studies
  • Experience in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Letters of Map Change (LOMC) and floodplain mapping
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D and GIS
  • Experience with construction oversight of stormwater project installations

Additional Information
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $85,000 to $135,000. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
