ABOUT THE COMPANY
Nazdar has been in business for 99 years and is one of the leading ink manufacturers for screen and wide format ink jet printing. Nazdar manufactures the most comprehensive selection of UV, water-base and solvent-based screen printing inks, flexographic inks, and wide-format digital inks obtainable from a single source. Nazdar inks are primarily used by printers in the Point of Purchase (POP), Banner, Container, Industrial, Metal, Nameplate- Membrane Switch, Roll Label, Sign, and Textile decorating markets.
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Nazdar is actively seeking an Inkjet Field Specialist for our Technical Services department
ABOUT THE JOB
The primary function of the Inkjet Field Specialist is to install, train and repair the graphic and textile ink jet equipment that Nazdar sells and supports. The secondary focus is to provide technical support to the end users of this equipment on the phone and through the computer.
This position has these primary duties and responsibilities.
  1. To install / repair / and train on the operation of the graphic and textile Inkjet equipment that Nazdar sells and supports.
  2. The ability to work with and communicate effectively with Nazdar customers at facilities within the continental USA.
  3. To provide technical support on this equipment remotely via phone and computer when not at printing facilities.
  4. Works with sales to identify new sales opportunities when equipment is outdated or inefficient.
  5. May occasionally work at trade shows to set up, operate, and demonstrate Inkjet printing equipment.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Traveling to printing facilities in a company provided vehicle (up to 75% of the time), but could require commercial air travel outside of your region (up to 25% of the time).
  • Writing detailed service reports that document the work completed, parts used, and equipment recommendations.
  • Provide elevated phone support to Nazdar customers in the use of digital printing equipment, inks, media, software, and finishing processes.
  • Performs job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.
  • Reports all information to manager as needed such as weekly activity summaries, notification of issues identified in the field, direct report issues, and vendor support issues.
  • Assists with other duties as directed by manager.

Qualifications and Skills required include:
  • A high school diploma or GED is
  • A current valid driver's license subject to an annual Department of Motor Vehicles check conducted by the company.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, product literature, regulatory documents, equipment schematics and service manuals is essential.
  • The ability to solve practical and complex problems in a limited time frame is important in this job.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in computer graphics or graphics arts study is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in all aspects of Inkjet printing to include wide/super wide, solvent, UV, and aqueous inks, graphic and textile applications, prepress color control, software file output and color profiling.
  • Hands on experience with wide format Inkjet printers such as Roland, Mimaki, Mutoh, EFI, or similar equipment is necessary.
  • Overall knowledge of all aspects of art generation, Inkjet printing, and finishing is required.
  • Ink jet equipment certifications are recommended.
  • RIP software and Color management certifications are recommended.
  • Effective use of the Microsoft Office Suite programs Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
  • Effective use of the Adobe Suite programs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required.
  • Operational knowledge of one or more of these RIP software programs, Versaworks, Wasatch, Caldera, EFI Fiery, and Onyx.
  • Networking, Internet capabilities, Web access and electronic file transferring is necessary.
  • A high mechanical aptitude and confidence in the use of tools is necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of media/ink profiling and how the media effects color output is beneficial.
  • A good understanding of electricity and the different requirements printing equipment will have in various environments.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to travel in an automobile for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • The job duties require the ability to talk and hear. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift to 75 pounds.
