Job Title: Machine Operator – Zünd S3 M800 & Mimaki UJF-7151 Plus

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA
Base Pay: $18 - $22 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator to run both the Zünd S3 M800 digital cutter and the Mimaki UJF-7151 Plus UV flatbed printer in support of manufacturing high-quality labels, overlays, and membrane switch components. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital printing and cutting, an eye for quality, and the ability to work with tight tolerances in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Zünd S3 M800 Operation: Set up and operate the digital cutter to process printed and unprinted materials, including polyester, polycarbonate, vinyl, and adhesive laminates. Import and prepare cut files using Zünd Cut Center (ZCC); align registration marks for accurate die-less cutting. Adjust tooling and machine settings based on material type and job specifications. Monitor cut quality and perform in-process inspections. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Mimaki UJF-7151 Plus Operation: Prepare and print high-resolution artwork on various substrates for overlays, labels, and membrane switch components. Load materials and set print parameters in RasterLink or other RIP software. Verify image alignment, color accuracy, and ink adhesion throughout the job run. Conduct printer maintenance, including print head cleanings and ink level monitoring. Work closely with prepress to ensure proper file setup and color profiles.

General Duties:

  • Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and conformance to job specs.
  • Record job completion data, material usage, and downtime events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety, cleanliness, and material handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with production team to prioritize jobs and meet daily deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating digital cutting and/or flatbed UV printing equipment.
  • Experience with Zünd and Mimaki equipment highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Zünd Cut Center, and RIP software (e.g., RasterLink).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, job tickets, and work instructions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
