Position Overview

The Millennial Counseling Centre is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to provide outstanding, trauma-informed care to individuals navigating complex emotional challenges. This full-time remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the state of New Jersey while making a meaningful impact in the lives of trauma survivors.

Work Environment

This role is positioned within a telehealth framework, allowing you to engage with clients from the comfort of their homes while utilizing advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and scheduling. Our virtual environment prioritizes flexibility and accessibility, enabling both therapists and clients to navigate their schedules seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments, carefully reviewing a patient's history to determine their specific mental health needs and appropriate therapeutic approaches.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and effective coping strategies tailored to each clientโ€™s unique circumstances.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide clients through their healing process.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, encouraging clients to process their experiences and develop practical tools for managing trauma symptoms.
  • Work in collaboration with psychiatrists and various healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care that encompasses mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support in trauma-related situations, ensuring clients feel safe and understood during emergencies.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, mechanisms for coping, and resources available within the community to further assist in their recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation while adhering to all relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training sessions and case consultations focused on trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals affected by traumatic experiences, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. The therapist will play a crucial role in creating therapeutic strategies that are sensitive to the complexities of trauma, ensuring that every client receives care that respects their unique histories.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current, valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey is essential.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred, particularly in trauma-focused therapy.
