Job description

Position Summary: Our Waupun location is looking for a Maintenance Technician that will assist with preventive maintenance needs, perform (and assist with) corrective and breakdown repairs, and assist with equipment installations at the Waupun feed mill.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a full understanding of the internal and external functionalities of the facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with supervision, mill employees, contractors, vendors, etc.
  • Responsible for interfacing with Fiix CMMS computerized maintenance management systems for PMs, Work Orders, Inventory, Purchasing
  • Follow all necessary safety procedures, and ensure safety of self, coworkers, and customers.
  • Learn processes, product flow and computer system functions of each mill.
  • Assist in the training of mill employees on proper preventive maintenance.
  • Assist or lead preventive maintenance procedures (i.e. cleaning, lubricating, inspecting).
  • Assist or lead corrective and breakdown maintenance repairs and procedures.
  • Assist in procuring parts and tools necessary.
  • Assist in determining strategies to reduce overall downtime, improve safety and efficiency.
  • Work with mill employees to minimize production interruptions caused by maintenance work.
  • Maintain cleanliness of working area, equipment, and tools.
  • Develop a full understanding, internally and externally, of the soybean meal mill and the feed mill. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years millwright, industrial maintenance, or agricultural equipment maintenance repair experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Good troubleshooting abilities and experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good basic math skills.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Preferred:

  • Boiler experience – working knowledge of boiler operations.
  • Experience working with automated computer production.
  • Skilled in metal working techniques, welding, and fabrication.
  • Experience in PLC troubleshooting.
  • Previous production maintenance experience.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • This position is first shift Monday – Friday and will be participating on call. 
  • Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work safely at various heights.
  • Ability to work safely in high noise environments.
  • Ability to stoop/bend, twist, squat and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to climb Bucket Elevators (Legs) and other equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
