Job description
The Research and Project Director will serve as the principal operations manager for project research activities. Responsibilities include coordinating research efforts among collaborators; contributing to study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting; and assisting with the preparation of scientific manuscripts. Additional duties include preparing and tracking human subjects protection approvals, ensuring compliance with human subject protection authorities, managing research data and safeguarding procedures, assisting with recruitment and enrollment of research participants, and coordinating large-scale data collection activities. The position will also track project milestones and deliverables, organize partner meetings and project logistics, maintain communication with project stakeholders, and support outreach efforts to increase awareness of MiHRC activities across Alaska and the University of Alaska system.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational, research, and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple project milestones within a collaborative research environment. Experience working with military or first responder communities and conducting health-related research is highly desirable. A master's degree in a relevant field and at least two years of postgraduate research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. The position may require travel within and outside of Alaska.

Master's degree and two years of research experience at the postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddah campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 80, based on education and experience.
