Job description

LOD Staffing has openings for Construction Laborers.


The Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting construction projects by performing a wide range of manual labor tasks to assist skilled trades people and ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. Ideal candidates are physically capable, safety-conscious, and ready to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Ideal candidate must have a clear/clean background, valid Driver's License and current insurance and registration for vehicle.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up barricades, and ensuring work areas are safe
  • Assist with the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, and other construction components
  • Operate hand and power tools as directed
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or other materials
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and assist with grading and leveling
  • Support skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians, or plumbers with basic tasks
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and crew leaders
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working conditions
  • Adherent to all site safety rules and company policies


Minimum Qualifications


  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • The ability to pass a background check
  • Access the military base by showing a valid driver’s license or photo ID
  • Valid insurance documentation for vehicle


Preferred Qualification


  • Familiarity with basic construction tools and materials
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Forklift or equipment operation experience is a bonus


Physical and Mental Requirements


  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for operating tools and handling materials
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of surroundings and potential hazards on job sites


Working Environment


  • Work outdoors and indoors depending on the project.
  • Work is performed in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.
  • Job sites may be dusty, noisy, and involve exposure to construction hazards.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
