ABOUT THE POSITION & ITS IMPACT

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for caring for and supporting our client’s medical care during their stay at Milestones. Working alongside the VP of Medical Services, Clinical Director, Psychiatric team, Client Advocates and other Milestones’ stakeholders, the Nursing Specialist is the day-to-day medical contact for all manner of client care and provides world-class care in concert with the client’s treatment plan.


ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY IN THIS ROLE:

  • Available Shifts: Friday - Sunday 7:30a-5:00p OR Saturday - Monday 7:30a-5:00p
  • As a member of the Nursing staff, you will provide patient care on a daily basis including exams, take and record vital signs, perform testing and prepare medication for self-administration
  • Assist with medical and psychological exams as needed and accurately and thoroughly document all needed information on appropriate charts, log all medical occurrences such as illnesses, injuries, reports of illness, etc.
  • Prepare medication for self-administration to participants; ensuring the procedures of administration and documentation are in place. Effectively train all Client Advocates on the procedures and processes related to medication administration
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, if necessary, travel to pharmacy to pick up medications or supplies

Requirements:

IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE:

Typically, with most openings within our team we have very open and flexible requirements for evaluating candidates for a position. However, given this role is medical in nature we require strict adherence to these needs:

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse or higher
  • Ability to draw labs is needed; however, we are open to training if this is not a skill-set a candidate currently possesses
  • Knowledge of the 12 step/recovery/counseling process preferred
  • One year of experience in a trauma informed setting preferred
