Main Purpose:

The Welder performs MIG welding (95% of the work) and requires proficiency in welding aluminum, steel and stainless steel. The Welder will also perform structural and sheet metal welding, including work with plenum and structural heavy welding of tubing. The individual will also be responsible for conducting weld tests, reading tape measures and working at heights on platform ladders and scissor lifts.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform MIG welding (95% of the work), primarily on aluminum, steel and stainless steel components, ensuring strong and precise welds
  • Weld heavy tubing and sheet metal (14 gauge), including structural and plenum work
  • Assist in the fabrication of custom components, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and design specifications
  • Conduct weld tests to ensure the strength, integrity and quality of the welds
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding requirements; accurately measure and cut materials using tape measures
  • Use basic math skills to convert fractions to decimals and ensure the accuracy of measurements for welding projects
  • Operate platform ladders and scissor lifts safely to perform welding tasks in elevated work areas
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE); maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience in MIG, structural and sheet metal welding, including work with plenum and structural heavy welding of tubing
  • Experience with fabricating and assembling metal parts as needed
  • Familiarity working with plenum structures and heavy weld tubing
  • Comfort with converting fractions to decimals and applying basic math to welding tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights using platform ladders and scissor lifts
  • Must successfully pass written and practical Welding Tests
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • Holds a valid welding certification (e.g., AWS) and experience working with a variety of welding techniques and materials preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
