Are you passionate about shaping the future of veterinary medicine while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment? Midwestern University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Small Animal Internal Medicine specialist to join our growing academic and clinical team.

This is more than a faculty position; it is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. You will help educate and mentor the next generation of veterinarians, contribute to an evolving and innovative curriculum, and play a key role in the continued growth of an exceptional Internal Medicine program dedicated to compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.

In addition to clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities, all small animal faculty members serve as clinical mentors for interns and residents, fostering a supportive learning environment that emphasizes professional growth, clinical excellence, and lifelong learning.

Our Internal Medicine service is supported by a growing specialty hospital that includes Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Primary Care, Physical Rehabilitation, and Anesthesiology services, providing a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Faculty enjoy the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across specialties while helping shape the future direction of the College.

Midwestern University offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, along with a collegial environment that values innovation, teamwork, and work-life balance. We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching, mentoring, clinical service, and contributing to the continued advancement of veterinary medical education.

      • Graduate degree in a relevant field of study
      • Additional advanced training in a small animal clinical field

Midwestern University (MWU) is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides graduate and professional education in the health sciences.  The University has two campuses -- one in Downers Grove, Illinois and one in Glendale, Arizona where the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is located.  More than 6,700 full-time students are enrolled in graduate programs in veterinary medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nurse anesthesia, cardiovascular perfusion, podiatry, optometry, clinical psychology, speech language pathology, and biomedical sciences.  Over 500 full-time faculty members and 400 staff members are dedicated to the education and development of our students in an environment that encourages learning, respect for all members of the health care team, service, interdisciplinary scholarly activity, and personal growth. The addition of veterinary medicine on the Glendale campus provides an excellent opportunity to train students following the principles of One Health at Arizona’s first veterinary college.  The CVM received full accreditation by the AVMA Council on Education in September of 2018.

The College of Veterinary Medicine is housed in Cactus Wren Hall and in the Animal Health Institute.  Cactus Wren Hall is a new facility with ample classrooms, teaching laboratories, research laboratories, conference rooms, and offices.  The Animal Health Institute is comprised of The Companion Animal Clinic, The Large Animal Clinic, and The Diagnostic Pathology Center.  The Companion Animal Clinic is a modern and innovative veterinary hospital for small animals. The 110,000 sq. ft. building contains state-of-the-art medical, surgical, internal medicine, dental, and urgent care facilities. Additional patient services include anesthesiology neurology, physical therapy, cardiology, therapeutic plasma exchange, shelter medicine, clinical pathology, and microbiology. In addition to outstanding clinical facilities and equipment, the Companion Animal Clinic houses a pharmacy, a large and well-equipped surgery teaching laboratory, simulated examination rooms for clinical communications training using standardized clients/patients, and ample conference and small-group meeting rooms.  Adjacent to the Companion Animal Clinic is the Large Animal Clinic, which houses large animal teaching and treatment facilities, and small herds of cattle and horses.  The Diagnostic Pathology Center offers a full range of anatomical pathology and forensic pathology services and contains ample teaching spaces.
