Job description

Outside Sales Representative

Founded in 1988, The SALT Group® is an industry-leading B2B Operating Cost & Expense Reduction Consulting firm. The Outside Sales Representative’s primary function is to facilitate New Business engagements with the companies The SALT Group® has targeted to solicit. For clients, the result of our Consulting Services is increased Cash Flow and Profit Margin. Engagements with The SALT Group® are risk-free because all fees are performance-based – which means there is no fee for our service if we are not able to identify Benefits for the client.

Position:
Your mission as an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) would be to run PRE-SET 15-30 minute Sales Meetings in which you would articulate in detail to prospective clients how their company would benefit from the services The SALT Group® provides - and then work to sign the prospect as a new client (one-call closes are not uncommon). The position requires that you be willing to travel extensively nearly every week (Multiple Regions).

Why The SALT Group®?

  • ALL of your Sales Meetings are pre-set through our Call Center with mangers/executives of the companies in our proprietary lead database
  • All OSRs have a dedicated Insides Sales support person to assist them with their Sales-related efforts

We believe that for a sales rep to be truly successful, their focus needs to be on the SALES process, not on Lead Generation or Administrative duties. Therefore, aside from result-coding appointments in our CRM and submitting Sales-related documents and Expense Reports, no other administrative duties are required. After the sale, OSRs have no further contact with the client. In other words, we have minimized nearly all extraneous tasks and responsibilities so that you can focus on selling! In exchange, we expect a very high level of performance – and pay generously for it.

In addition:

  • All rental cars and flights are booked and paid for by company
  • Hotel, Fuel and Toll expenses are 100% reimbursed weekly
  • Hotels also paid by company if using our CLC Lodging account
  • Food & Drink (excluding alcohol) up to $60 per day is reimbursed bi-weekly

Compensation:
This a W2 position. Compensation is 100% commission and includes a Training salary (equivalent to $9,000 for the first 6 months).
Successful first-year OSR's earn $70,000 - $100,000.
Top performers earn $140K-$180K per year.

Experience / Skills / Attributes:
Previous experience varies. Our OSRs come from a variety of backgrounds and Sales experience, including: Insurance Sales, Product Sales, Car Sales and Sales Management. What they all have in common is a consistent track record of successfully closing New Business.

Required Experience, Skills & Attributes:

  • Previous Sales and/or Sales Management experience
  • A proven track record of closing New Business
  • A professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude
  • A clear speaking voice and business-savvy vocabulary
  • The confidence to present to C-Level executives
  • The ability to articulate value and effectively overcome objections
  • The versatility to quickly build rapport/credibility AND to also ask for – and when appropriate, push for – the sale
  • A driven, competitive personality that is motivated by success (both personal and financial)
  • The willingness and ability to travel (this is a true “Road Warrior” position)
  • A strong work ethic
  • A good driving record and insurable
  • Background checks are conducted upon contingent offer of employment
  • Previous Outside Sales experience preferred
  • Previous experience in Consulting Sales or selling intangible Services is a big plus

Successful first-year OSR's earn $70,000 - $100,000 per year

Top performers earn $140,000 - $180,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Benefits:

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Business development: 2 years (Required)
  • Outside sales: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification: Valid state driver license (Required)
