Job description

We anticipate the application window for this opening will close on - 11 Sep 2026
At MiniMed, you can begin a lifelong career of exploration and innovation, while helping make a difference in the lives of people living with diabetes around the globe. You'll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation for a more connected, compassionate world.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hands-On Engineering Technical Lead to drive the technical vision, development, and maintenance of our Salesforce eCommerce platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and hands-on execution. You will spend approximately 40% of your time actively writing code and refactoring critical systems, while spending the remaining time guiding technical architecture, enforcing engineering standards, and mentoring developers.
As an Engineering Technical Lead, you will shape the engineering environment-establishing frameworks and best practices that eliminate technical debt and set our development team up for long-term scalability and success.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Engineering Technical Lead (40%)
  • Shape Technical Strategy: Define the broader technical design, core development frameworks, and development standards across our Salesforce Commerce ecosystem.
  • Standards & Quality: Establish guidelines for code structure, integration patterns, and deployment pipelines. Proactively manage and minimize technical debt.
  • Documentation & Specifications: Maintain clear, up-to-date technical design documents, API/integration specifications, and deployment guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, business analysts, and cross-functional technology teams to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.

Hands-On Software Engineering (40%)
  • Core Development: Write high-quality, production-ready code for high-impact features, complex integrations, and core platform enhancements.
  • Refactoring & Problem Solving: Step in to refactor existing codebase, troubleshoot critical system issues, and optimize application performance when required.
  • Tooling & Language Expertise: Maintain a strong command of modern programming languages, web engineering practices, and Salesforce development tools.
  • Deep hands-on expertise across the Salesforce Commerce ecosystem (B2B/D2C Lightning), including LWC, Apex, Controllers, and Business Manager. You bring strong web engineering skills (ES6+, SLDS, APIs/OCAPI/SCAPI) and proven experience integrating Salesforce eCommerce with enterprise middleware (MuleSoft/WebMethods), ERPs, and third-party commerce services. Additionally, you are well-versed in modern DevOps (Git, CI/CD, SFDX), web performance optimization, OWASP security standards, and automated testing frameworks.

Team Mentorship & Engineering Excellence (20%)
  • Code Reviews & PR Oversight: Rigorously review code, track pull requests, and ensure all submissions adhere to established performance, security, and coding standards.
  • Developer Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior-to-mid-level developers, helping them make efficient choices that save time and build strong engineering skills.
  • Agile & Process Optimization: Enforce modern software development processes to ensure predictable, high-quality, and timely delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Haves:
  • eCommerce Experience: 8+ years of experience delivering and scaling go-to-market eCommerce solutions.
  • Salesforce Ecosystem Mastery: Deep hands-on knowledge and expertise across the Salesforce ecosystem (Salesforce Commerce Cloud / B2B/B2C Commerce, Apex, LWC, integrations, and APIs).
  • Hands-On Coding Skills: Strong technical proficiency with modern web languages, frameworks, and tools, with a proven track record of writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing pull requests, conducting technical code reviews, and mentoring development teams. Copado experience preference
  • Experience defining development frameworks, translating business goals into technical requirements, and managing technical debt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Salesforce Certified B2B / B2C Commerce Developer
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
  • Salesforce Certified B2B / B2C Commerce Architect

Key Competencies for Success
  • Pragmatic Problem Solver: Able to balance "ideal architecture" with realistic delivery timelines and business priorities.
  • Clear Communicator: Capable of explaining complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and developers alike.
  • Quality Advocate: Passionate about high code quality, automated testing, continuous integration, and scalable system design.
