Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Lead II Technician, Field to provide critical field data within the OSP Engineering department for various utility construction projects within a market. This position will visit OSP utility construction job sites and perform quality assurance, inspection, survey, and verification support to provide critical data for the OSP Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, have a high level of attention to detail, customer, and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides mid-level field technician functions for various OSP construction projects including but not limited to; QAQC, inspections, surveys, design verification, etc.
  • Has the ability to collect and edit data within ARCGIS applications to create surveys
  • Has the ability to adjust maps, verify QC data collected, and respond to internal and external client requests
  • Maintains simple GIS data integrity ensuring data submitted is correct
  • Prepares field data to submit to the customer for deliverables
  • Has the ability to physically climb in manholes, walk construction routes for utility locating, and create butterfly diagrams
  • Verify existing duct utilizing rod and roping
  • Works with local owners and municipalities to gain access to various jobsites
  • Collects visual and GIS data to support make ready surveys
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering design plans
  • Performs other job duties when requested by leadership

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving
  • This job operates in a professional office environment
  • Company required personal protective equipment always required when on a job site including, but not limited to safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 4+ years of field telecommunications experience required
  • CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) certification preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in an OSP QAQC, locating, or inspecting position preferred but not required
  • Must have a valid license with a clean driving record, ability to drive a company vehicle required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

The starting pay for this position is $24.00 and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
