Job description

Mid Software Engineer
Location: Remote/Alexandria, VA
Whitespace, Ltd., is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to build innovative forward-looking solutions within our Answers platform. You'll be essential to our Answers platform digital offering which is broken into a technological stack that is comprised of a data, engine, analytic, and story layer. The engineering team is the technological backbone of our Answers platform working in the 'engine layer' to measure ground truth. You'll work with a team of engineers and developers designing tools to provide technical solutions to complex questions. The ideal candidate is creative, a problem solver, developer, designer, and appreciates delivering high-quality products. This position will report to the VP of Engineering.
EXPERIENCE
  • Develops, research, designs, implements, tests, and evaluates software and systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, that enable computers to perform their applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Excludes paraprofessional positions.
  • Preferred years of experience: 4-7 years of related experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
  • May coordinate installation of software system.
