Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS seeks a strategic and relationship-driven Mid-Level Giving Manager to lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for donors contributing $1,000–$24,999 annually.

This role sits at a critical inflection point in the donor journey—serving as both a steward of loyal supporters and a builder of the pipeline that feeds major gifts. The Mid-Level Giving Manager will manage a dynamic portfolio of donors and prospects, drive revenue growth, and play a central role in shaping the strategy, systems, and culture of a growing mid-level program.

The ideal candidate brings strong frontline fundraising instincts, comfort with data and segmentation strategy, and a desire to build something meaningful within a collaborative and mission-driven development team.

Note, this position is based at our headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland or our office in New York, New York, and we will consider a remote option for applicants who live outside of commuting distance to either of our offices and are based in other states in which we are registered (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia).

The salary range for this position is $80,000-85,000.00.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors, with clear revenue and activity goals.
  • Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans designed to increase retention, upgrade giving, and identify major gift potential. Partner with Major Gifts colleagues to strategically transition donors along the giving continuum. Collaborate with supervisor to design and refine HIAS’ mid-level giving strategy, including segmentation, prospect identification, and donor journey mapping. Help build scalable systems and reporting pipelines to strengthen program performance and forecasting.
  • Participate in Development leadership conversations to ensure mid-level giving is integrated across the division. Work closely with Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Revenue Operations, and Communications teams to create cohesive donor messaging and a unified case for support.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of HIAS’ global programs and policy priorities to translate impact into compelling donor conversations. Represent HIAS externally with professionalism and clarity about the organization’s mission and priorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably managing a portfolio of individual donors.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Committed to working in and fostering a diverse, inclusive, and positive environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage donors in meaningful conversations. Comfort using CRM systems and data to inform strategy and track performance. Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
