Description

We are hiring a Senior Software Developer to lead the development and enhancement of customer Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) platforms and analytics systems that store and process information parsed from target systems and integrate with custom visualization capabilities. This role will provide senior technical leadership across data platforms, backend services, APIs, and analytics while collaborating with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and enhance enterprise-level ETL platforms and analytics systems.
  • Design and integrate ETL outputs with visualization tooling and the program's proprietary data model.
  • Develop and support backend services, APIs, and data-processing components.
  • Review code, evaluate task complexity, and support task assignment and sprint planning.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, engineers, and customers to resolve technical challenges and translate requirements into effective solutions.
  • Participate in customer engagements and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and work independently to solve complex technical problems.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and enhancing ETL platforms, data pipelines, and enterprise data systems.
  • Experience with backend services, APIs, data processing, and analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency with technologies such as Elastic, MongoDB, Amazon S3, Redis, Keycloak, and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience integrating data platforms with visualization tools and complex data models.
  • Strong software architecture, code review, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work in McLean, VA; Huntsville, AL; or remotely, as required by the program.
