About the Role

Our Infrastructure team is looking for a Network Engineer (open to either Senior to Mid-Level experience) to support Shamrock’s extremely fast growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep Palo Alto and Cisco background, experience in AWS, a passion for automation, a pragmatic approach to engineering solutions, a high aptitude, and strong problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a network andfirewall subject matter expert, recommending and implementing best-practice network architecture, as relevant to our environment.
  • Design, deploy and maintain secure and highly available network infrastructure and related technologies.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues of affected equipment.
  • Troubleshoot network issues within on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate effectively with teammates, other teams, and vendors.
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support our network infrastructure.
  • Lead and take part in the development of processes and documentation for new and existing areas of work or knowledge.
  • Comply with company and team processes and policies, including those that contribute to maintaining a highly available (99.99+%) and secure network infrastructure.
  • Mentor, train, and guide team members.
What You’ll Bring
  • BA/BS degree in a technical field or evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Must possess a passion for technology.
  • Extensive experience working on data center network technologies in an enterprise level environment.
  • Advanced networking knowledge, including routing, topology, and protocol understanding.
  • Extensive expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and ability to achieve the Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall Engineer certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Expertise with Cisco/Meraki networks and software-defined networking (SDN).
  • Experience with BGP and VXLAN/EVPN.
  • Experience building networks within enterprise-level public cloud environments, including AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with configuration management and orchestration systems such as AWX, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • Experience deploying enterprise networks to meet NIST and SOC2 compliances controls.
  • Advanced understanding of hardware architecture, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to script and automate processes.
  • Must possess the initiative to resolve issues before they become critical.
  • Must possess strong people skills and the ability to work as a team member, collaborating and partnering with others to address issues.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing, keeping the right people informed of relevant issues as well as understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Able to adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must have a propensity for gathering and sharing knowledge.
  • Must be innovative, self-motivated, and willing to work outside of primary focus areas as needed.
