WHO YOU ARE: We are seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support a mission focused on NIPR (Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router) network operations. In this role, you will be supporting and potentially leading operational efforts throughout the entire development cycle. You will be responsible for setting up and managing the development environment, configuring and maintaining cloud services (with a strong emphasis on AWS), and managing CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) baseline management. The ideal candidate will have experience working with software development teams, maintaining compliance and security controls, monitoring operations, and improving development processes when needed. You must be highly organized and proficient in Agile and DevSecOps principles. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Work Environment & Clearance Requirements:
• Location: RKB Quantico, VA
• Clearance Requirements: Active Secret clearance, able to obtain TS
• Certification Requirements: 8570 Level II Compliance (Security + or equivalent certification) WHAT YOU WILL DO: • Support and potentially lead operational efforts throughout the development cycle.
• Set up, configure, and manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS/Kubernetes, and related services.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) baseline management.
• Maintain compliance and security controls across systems.
• Monitor operations and implement improvements to processes.
• Provide change management documentation.
• Collaborate with Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Support government programs in NIPR environments (SIPR experience a plus). WHAT WE REQUIRE: Minimum Qualifications:
• Mid-level experience with AWS, including provisioning and managing cloud resources. (Kubernetes)
• Experience with commercial or private cloud service providers.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Experience deploying and maintaining highly available, fault-tolerant AWS systems.
• Familiarity with Linux (Redhat or CentOS preferred).
• Working understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring, incident response, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
• Experience with change management documentation.
• Experience installing and maintaining government programs in NIPR environments.
Desired Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services and architectures (VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
• Knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Experience securing Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and AWS environments.
• Exceptional technical writing and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with database queries and SQL.
• Understanding of Appian BPM Platform.
• Experience with DoD private cloud services (e.g., Air Force CloudOne). Education: • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, OR
