Job description

A well established Law Firm is seeking a patent associate with a minimum of 5 years of patent counseling experience, including patent prosecution and patent validity and noninfringement opinions, to join our pre-eminent, national Intellectual Property Department's Chemical, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Practice Group. Qualified candidate must hold a PhD in the biological sciences (i.e. Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology) or a related field and must have demonstrated strength in developing a comprehensive IP strategy for large patent portfolios. Ideal candidate will have immediately transferable skills, strong legal writing and research skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong academic background, and law firm experience. Admission to practice before the USPTO is required.

Pursuant to the CA Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $295,000 - $355,000.
