Job Details

Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

What You’ll Do
  • Own monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger review
  • Support the financial month-end close process
  • Handle the accounting complexity that comes with acquisitions: intercompany, opening balances, and properly posting transactions so the financials hold up
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues clearly and quickly
  • Support internal and external audit requests, including annual financial and year-end audits
  • Take on special accounting and finance projects as the business grows
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-7 years of accounting experience in a similar or adjacent role
  • Solid foundation in month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Microsoft Suite with genuine Excel depth
  • Mid- to large ERP experience
  • A high level of discretion with confidential information
  • Initiative, curiosity, and the instinct to dig into a problem and figure it out rather than wait to be directed
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and comfort working both independently and on a team
  • No prior acquisition or multi-entity accounting experience required. We will teach it.
A bit about us

We are a private equity-backed professional services firm headquartered in downtown Minneapolis with offices in several states. We have been in business for decades, and we are in the most active growth period in our history: acquiring companies, entering new markets, and building the finance infrastructure to support both. That makes this an unusual moment to join our corporate accounting team. You are not inheriting a perfect process. You are helping build an evolving one, with a direct line to the CFO and controller as the business scales.

We are also not a place people pass through. It is common here for people to build 20+ year careers. Leadership funds professional development and supports internal moves when someone raises their hand. Low ego, high initiative, and a team small enough that your work is visible.

Why join us?
  • M&A exposure you cannot get at a static company. Multiple acquisitions already closed this year, with more in the pipeline. You will be posting the transactions, not reading about them
  • Complexity that builds a resume. Intercompany, opening balance sheets, escrow, subsidiary consolidation, and integrating newly acquired entities into the ERP
  • Small team, direct line to leadership. You work daily with the CFO, controller, and your manager. Nothing is filtered through four layers
  • Growth is stated, not implied. Professional development is funded, and internal moves into other areas of the business happen
  • Genuine longevity. Your manager has been here 20+ years. That is the norm here, not the exception
  • Flexibility once you are ramped. Hybrid, three days in office, with a flexible team culture after your training period
  • Benefits that are actually usable. 6% 401(k) company match, PTO credited 100% upfront, HSA/FSA, paid parental leave, paid volunteer time, license reimbursement, dependent care assistance, full medical/dental/life/disability
