Job description

We are currently looking for a Bilingual Warehouse Operations Manager for our warehouse in Bradenton. The Furniture Warehouse is a multi-retail furniture chain with a 148,000 sq. ft. warehouse, and State-of-the-art radio frequency bar-coded warehouse. We have 6 showrooms located along Florida's Gulf Coast.

The Bilingual Warehouse Operations Manager works as part of the management team to ensure the successful operation of the warehouse. Responsibilities of the include planning, organizing, leading, and directing the activities of warehouse staff and maintaining a highly productive and efficient receiving and inventory control operation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of company products and policies
  • Management of 50 warehouse employees
  • Work closely with management team to ensure compliance with all company policies
  • Provide management coverage of the warehouse, including opening and closing of the warehouse
  • Provide leadership to build an atmosphere that is motivating, cooperative, and rewarding
  • Train, guide, and develop staff
  • Hold staff accountable for performance objectives and recommend performance improvements as necessary
  • Maintain inventory integrity within our system by making sure all inventory transactions are accounted for in the database on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Oversee the unloading of incoming shipments; inspect and count all items, and ensure there is proper paperwork
  • Ensure that all merchandise and parts are put away and scanned in receiving on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all merchandise and all parts on the racks are stacked safely and neatly with all inventory tags scanned and accessible to inventory staff
  • Monitor stock rotation and products and analyze inventory issues
    • Inspect and complete paperwork for returned and refused merchandise
    • Perform proper placement of defective merchandise by returning to vendor, repairing/returning to stock, or sending to clearance
  • Oversee day-to-day distribution & transportation operations
    • Route trucks from current delivery forecast
    • Prepare report for delivery and warehouse errors and review with drivers and warehouse
  • Maintain transfer schedule of new inventory to be sent to the sales floors and timely removal of sold merchandise from the sales floors
  • Direct technicians with daily workflow, assist in scheduling service or exchanges, and review quality of the work completed
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety rules & regulations
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by ensuring that established security and safety procedures and protocols are followed and reviewed so that changes and/or upgrades can be made when needed
    • Inspect physical conditions of warehouse, vehicle fleets, and equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements
  • Assist in keeping the inside and outside warehouse surroundings free of debris

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a warehouse facility
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent inventory and accounting skills
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to operate a stand-up forklift and obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to use RF unit
  • Capable of constantly squatting, bending, pulling and pushing
  • Able to stand in one spot for a long period of time
  • Ability to work in cooler and warmer temperature zones
  • Must have previous Furniture Warehouse experience
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and a positive team player
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
