Job description

Job Title: Test Engineer
Location: Weston, Florida
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40-46.66/hr
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid 
Join a collaborative and innovation-driven medical technology organization as a Software Test Engineer supporting critical healthcare applications and devices. In this contract role, you’ll work within Agile Scrum teams to execute manual and automated testing, ensure compliance with regulated industry standards, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software solutions that directly impact patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to fully understand requirements and ensure high-quality implementations and application changes.
• Participate in daily Scrum meetings, Sprint planning, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog grooming meetings with Scrum team members to support cross-functional teams and execute testing for multiple ongoing projects.
• Review user stories and analyze software requirements with the product owner and developers to ensure they are clear and testable.
• Create, review, and execute manual and/or automated test cases to verify the correct functionality, usability, performance, and reliability of systems and applications.
• Create and execute test designs and test plans with minimal supervision to verify adherence to the company’s development process and software requirement specifications.
• Adhere to fundamental industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies that apply to regulatory requirements.
• Assist in test planning and risk analysis activities.
• Clearly document and track defects for anomalies found during test development and procedures utilizing designated tools. Verify the effectiveness of resolutions to anomalies and document results.
• May periodically lead and train less experienced employees.
• B.S. of Engineering with 3 or more years of software testing experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to medical device and software development life cycle: 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304 preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in software testing methods, test case development, and software development practices.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including waterfall and AGILE (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with JAMA, Jira, and other testing/management tools.
• Knowledge of C++ and Python.
• Demonstrated experience using Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.

Requirements
• At least 3 years of experience in software testing and validation.
• Strong understanding of regulatory standards such as 21 CFR and ISO 13485.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies for software projects.
• Proficiency with JIRA, JAMA, and test automation tools.
• Programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
