About the Role
As a Microsoft SharePoint Architect, you will serve as the technical authority responsible for the architecture, governance, security, and long-term strategy of HARMAN's Microsoft SharePoint Online environment. This is an individual contributor role responsible for designing scalable collaboration solutions, establishing platform standards, and driving continuous improvement across the Microsoft 365 collaboration ecosystem. Working closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Digital Workplace, and business stakeholders, you will ensure SharePoint delivers a secure, modern, and highly available collaboration platform that supports HARMAN's global workforce.
What You Will Do
  • Own the architecture, technical roadmap, and governance strategy for Microsoft SharePoint Online across the enterprise.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available SharePoint solutions aligned with HARMAN's business and technology objectives.
  • Establish governance standards, site architecture, information architecture, taxonomy, permissions models, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to implement security controls, compliance policies, data protection, and access governance within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Design and maintain SharePoint integrations with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Microsoft Purview, and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Lead platform modernization initiatives, migrations, and adoption of new Microsoft collaboration capabilities.
  • Develop architecture standards, design documentation, operational procedures, and best practices for SharePoint administration and solution development.
  • Evaluate new Microsoft 365 capabilities and recommend improvements that enhance collaboration, productivity, security, and user experience.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering, support, and project teams implementing SharePoint-based solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex architectural and platform issues while serving as the highest level of technical escalation.
  • Partner with Microsoft and third-party vendors to evaluate technologies, optimize platform capabilities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive platform optimization, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability of HARMAN's collaboration services.

What You Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.
  • Deep expertise in SharePoint Online architecture, governance, information architecture, permissions management, and site lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, and Power Platform.
  • Experience implementing secure collaboration solutions using Microsoft security and compliance capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, data governance, retention policies, sensitivity labels, and compliance features within Microsoft 365.
  • Experience developing enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technical roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, identity management, and access control within Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Ability to independently solve complex technical challenges and influence architecture decisions across multiple technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into enterprise collaboration solutions.
