Labcorp Oncology is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team that's based in Brentwood, TN! The position will focus primarily on oncology chromosomes utilizing the Applied Spectral Imaging software and may include onscreen FISH analysis utilizing Metasystems Neon.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with some flexibility

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens

  • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis

  • Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature

  • Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results

  • Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed

  • Comply with company policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

  • 3 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory

  • 2 years of experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images

  • 2 year of experience in Oncology cytogenetics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)

  • 1 year or more of FISH Oncology Cytogenetics experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • Computer skills; must be able to effectively use the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback
