Job description

Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
The Program Project Planner supports the Strategic Development organization by assisting with day-to-day marketing budget operations, coordinating end-to-end Bid and Proposal (B&P) activities, and providing critical administrative and analytical support. This role ensures that marketing and B&P expenditures are accurate, compliant, and aligned with approved budgets, schedules, and scope, while enabling clear communication between management and project teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Marketing Budget Support
    • Assist with day-to-day marketing budget operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with approved budgets.
    • Analyze and review cross-charges into the department, including consultants and professional services, international offices, reprographics, tradeshows and freight, advertising, demonstrations and events, travel and related expenses, memberships and sponsorships, and other marketing-related costs.
    • Support forecasting and variance analysis and assist with developing departmental objectives.
    • Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate budget status, spend trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
  • Bid and Proposal Support
    • Support end-to-end bid and proposal activities and track overall B&P budget.
    • Monitor individual pursuit spending and assist with preparation of monthly reports.
    • Assist with resolution of labor exceptions and other pursuit-related issues.
  • Compliance and Administration
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial, business, and personnel information.
    • Serve as a liaison between management and project teams to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and support timely completion of tasks.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the department.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related discipline and three or more years of progressive professional experience in program planning, monitoring, and scheduling. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • General understanding of program planning principles and concepts, with general knowledge of industry practices.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to develop solutions to complex problems.

Additional Skills and Abilities
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting)
    • Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., executive-level presentations)
    • Microsoft Power BI (e.g., dashboards and data visualization)
  • High level of organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and guide employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as lead and contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance is required.
