Type: Temporary / Contract

Pay Rate: $70.00 โ€“ $90.00 per hour

Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid โ€“ 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Position Overview

This public-sector organization is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Power BI Developer to support ongoing data modernization and analytics initiatives. The role partners closely with business and technical stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver executive and operational dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, supported by Microsoft SQL Server and multiple line-of-business applications and databases.


The ideal candidate combines strong technical development expertise with the analytical ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable, data-driven solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for executive, management, and operational audiences
  • Develop and optimize SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures to support ETL processes from multiple source systems
  • Integrate data from multiple line-of-business applications and databases into centralized reporting structures
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements
  • Translate functional and business needs into technical designs and scalable data models
  • Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and compliance with data governance standards
  • Support ongoing dashboard enhancements, refinements, and operational reporting needs


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, views, and stored procedures
  • Experience building or supporting data warehouses and data integration pipelines
  • Ability to write and maintain ETL or data import scripts from multiple source systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with stakeholders to document and refine business requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supporting executive-level and operational dashboards
  • Familiarity with enterprise or public-sector line-of-business systems such as Yardi Voyager
  • Experience supporting reporting environments within large, regulated organizations
