Position; Power BI Developer / Data Analytics Consultant
Location: Diamond Bar, CA (Local candidates preferred; relocation candidates welcome)
Duration: 6 Months (Contract, potential for extension)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Strong Power BI Developer with Data Science experience for a 6-month contract engagement based in Diamond Bar, CA. The ideal candidate has a consulting background (e.g., Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, or similar) and brings a strong blend of technical BI development skills, data science/analytics capability, and proven stakeholder management experience. This role requires someone who can work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design and build robust Power BI solutions, and apply data science techniques to derive actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance BI solutions
  • Apply data science methodologies (statistical analysis, predictive modelling, etc.) to support business decision-making
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings, and drive adoption of BI solutions
  • Optimize DAX calculations, data models, and Power Query (M) transformations
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and consistency across reporting solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, analytics, and business units
  • Present insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications

  • 7 12 years of overall professional experience (candidates outside this range will not be considered)
  • Strong, hands-on Power BI development experience (data modelling, DAX, Power Query, report/dashboard design)
  • Solid Data Science experience (statistical analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning concepts, Python/R a plus)
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management experience - ability to engage directly with business/client stakeholders, gather requirements, and present insights
  • Prior experience working for a consulting firm (e.g., Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, or similar)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
