We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Software Development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain business applications using Aviagen platforms.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain business applications
  • Build practical, user-friendly applications that support operational workflows, data collection, approvals, and business process improvement.
  • Work with business stakeholders and end users to gather requirements, understand existing processes, and translate business needs into effective solutions.
  • Develop workflows, approvals, notifications, scheduled processes, and integrations between business systems.
  • Design and maintain Dataverse tables, relationships, forms, views, business rules, and security roles where appropriate.
  • Integrate with other systems or services as applicable.
  • Collaborate with software developers and data teams to integrate applications with existing systems, databases, APIs, and reporting platforms where needed.
  • Help establish development standards, environment practices, naming conventions, documentation expectations, and application lifecycle management processes.
  • Support governance efforts related to security, access control, data management, deployment practices, and long-term maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, enhance, and support existing applications and workflows.
  • Evaluate Software capabilities and recommend practical solutions that align with business needs and technical constraints.
  • Document application designs, data structures, workflows, configuration decisions, and support procedures.
  • Provide guidance to internal users and teams as Aviagen expands its use of the software.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or another related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing business applications,
  • Experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders and translating them into functional applications and workflows.
  • Experience designing data structures and working with relational or structured business data.
  • Experience building workflow automation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, workflow, data, and permissions-related issues.
  • Strong understanding of application usability, maintainability, security, and supportability.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of solutions, and guide the organization as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience helping an organization establish standards, governance, environment strategy, security practices, and application lifecycle management around the software application.
  • Experience with Dataverse security roles, solution packaging, managed/unmanaged solutions, and deployment between environments.
  • Experience integrating solutions with SQL Server, REST APIs, Azure services, Dynamics 365, or other enterprise systems that may be required.
  • Experience with Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools.
  • Experience with custom connectors or integrating with external systems.
  • Experience with traditional software development using JavaScript, C#, .NET, SQL, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, or similar collaboration and work tracking tools.
  • Experience training or mentoring business users, citizen developers, or internal teams on best practices.
