Junior Database Developer

Location: Mayport, Florida
Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Database Developer. The Junior Database Developer will design, develop, update, and maintain multi-user technical and administrative database applications. The position will play an important role in automating manual processes, improving data quality, streamlining administrative workflows, and reducing operational redundancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, update, and maintain business databases and web-based applications.
  • Support database architecture, development, enhancement, and maintenance activities.
  • Modify and enhance existing Microsoft Access applications.
  • Perform historical data cleanup, data validation, and report generation.
  • Support the existing Microsoft Access Train to Qualify (T2Q) replacement Sailor database serving approximately 750 Sailors.
  • Develop comprehensive workflow analyses using system-study methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce administrative workload and redundancies.
  • Develop reports, queries, forms, scripts, and other database components.
  • Collaborate with the Metrics Business Analyst to produce professional graphics, charts, tables, and analytical products.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving database and application issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in database development, computer science, information technology, or a related computer field, or equivalent military/commercial experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in database development and business analysis.
  • Active Secret security clearance required on the first day of performance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative government-contractor environment.

Required Technical Skills

Candidates should have demonstrated proficiency with:

  • Microsoft Access
  • Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting the U.S. Navy, Department of Defense (DoD), or another federal government customer.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Access databases.
  • Experience with database modernization or migration initiatives.
  • Experience automating administrative workflows.
  • Experience supporting applications with several hundred or more users or records.
  • Familiarity with data cleansing, reporting, and visualization.
