Database Analyst

Location: Tallahassee, FL
Job Type: Contract / Consulting

Position Summary

Defined Software Development is seeking experienced Database Analysts for contract consulting opportunities in the Tallahassee area. Our consultants support government and enterprise technology projects across a variety of IT environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with relational databases, SQL, data analysis, database development, performance optimization, reporting, and data-related problem solving.

Specific project assignments, requirements, and durations may vary based on client and project needs.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze business and technical requirements related to databases and data systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
  • Analyze data structures and relationships within relational database systems.
  • Support database design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Perform data analysis and identify data quality issues and inconsistencies.
  • Troubleshoot database and data-related application issues.
  • Support developers and technical teams with database-related requirements.
  • Support data migration, integration, transformation, and validation activities.
  • Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop reports, queries, and data extracts as needed.
  • Document database structures, processes, procedures, and technical solutions.
  • Participate in testing and validation of database changes.
  • Assist with database upgrades, modernization, and maintenance activities.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
  • Experience working with database structures, tables, views, stored procedures, and queries.
  • Experience troubleshooting data and database-related issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to document technical information and communicate effectively with technical and business users.
