Job description

Angell Animal Medical Center (AAMC) is recruiting a full-time dermatologist to join our busy Dermatology team at our Boston (Jamaica Plain) location.

Dermatologic specific offerings:

  • WOLF and STORZ video otoscope, along with individual video otoscopes for exam rooms
  • Full CT and MRI as well as dedicated anesthesia support for procedures
  • Full immunotherapy in-house
  • New CO2 and Diode laser for more detailed surgical work within the ear canals
  • Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy unit
  • PHOVIA light source therapy unit
  • Maintained microscope with video image projections to TV monitor for easy teaching of students/interns/doctors regarding cytology findings
  • Off-site technician to assist with emails and reporting diagnostic results to clients, as well as dermatology secretary for scheduling and maintaining a close relationship with clients
  • Cohesive and established Dermatology teams at both our Jamaica Plain and Waltham locations

The AAMC in Boston, MA has served the greater Boston and scenic New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center for over a century. Our doctors practice in an ~ 80,000 square foot, state-of-the-art hospital containing a newly renovated intensive care unit, blood bank, multiple specialty rooms, 7 surgical suites, and a newly renovated full service clin pathology lab, microbiology lab, necropsy suite, and a histopathology lab for on-site biopsy evaluation.  AAMC’s Diagnostic Imaging Center is supported by 4 board-certified radiologists, and as an 80 slice Canon CT scanner, a 1.5 Tesla GE MRI, and C-Arm for fluoroscopic imaging. There are multiple video otoscopes and a CO2 laser is available. Angell is a premier veterinary institution staffed by 55 senior veterinarians, 20 rotating interns, 5 specialty interns, and 21 residents. Angell offers specialty services in anesthesiology, avian and exotic medicine, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, medical and radiation oncology, ophthalmology, anatomic and clinical pathology, and surgery.

Requirements Qualified applicants should be board certified in veterinary dermatology, or board eligible. The successful candidate should be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally to the veterinary and technical staff as well as with clients and referring veterinarians.
