Job description

Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join the Portland, Oregon (OR) office's MEP team!

Responsibilities
  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze and produce deliverables for our clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients' requirements for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project tasks as required, such as dry-mechanical, wet-mechanical, plumbing/process systems. Tasks could include developing floor plans, flow diagrams, schedules, details and calculations such as pump head calculations, pipe sizing and distribution, and selection of equipment, etc.
  • Support our collaboration of multi-discipline Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing/process piping, Instrumentation & Controls, Telecom/Technology team specifically working on large scale Building Systems engineering designs.
  • Project type will vary but may include Advanced Technology, Industrial, Micro-electronics, Mission Critical, Hospitals, Central Utility Plants and more
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in a similar mechanical engineering role
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT/EI certification or have the ability to obtain certification 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
  • Skilled in Revit and AutoCAD, and exposure to Pipeflo software

Salary range: $90,000 - $135,000
