Job Overview Seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead hardware integration, assembly, packaging, and product development across engineering programs. This role drives the design, prototyping, and validation of reliable, densely packaged electronic products, ensuring technical excellence and seamless transition to scalable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute 3D CAD design for densely packaged electronic components (PCBs, flexes, antennas, enclosures, mechanisms, and batteries).
  • Rapidly build, test, and evaluate prototypes to validate mechanical design concepts.
  • Design for manufacturing feasibility, selecting optimal materials and scalable production processes.
  • Support hardware assembly, packaging, system integration, root cause analysis, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Core Experience: 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in hardware integration, packaging, and assembly.
  • Micro-Electronics (Required): Essential experience designing with small, miniature, discreet electronic components and miniature parts such as PCBs.
  • Wearables (Strong Plus): Hands-on experience developing smaller, wearable-type devices and compact consumer electronics.
  • Environmental Design: Proven ability to design for harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, drops/falls, shock, vibration, and extreme high/low temperatures.
  • CAD Proficiency: Strong preference for SolidWorks expertise (3D CAD proficiency required)
  • Leadership is a plus: Demonstrated team, technical, or project leadership experience is a plus
  • Manufacturability: Experience with designing for manufacturing feasibility is a plus
