Job description

General Summary

Currently, we have a great opportunity available for a Customer Account Specialist to join our Customer Service team at our Cincinnati, OH headquarters. You will be responsible for providing professional and friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment and ensuring that customer orders are processed timely and accurately. This role will report to the Customer Service Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively within a highly matrixed, global environment.
  • Manage customer orders through the entire order cycle, from order entry to shipment, including generating shipping packets, scheduling transportation, and confirming shipment details for both domestic and international orders.
  • Work collaboratively with Planning, Production, and Shipping departments, as well as freight forwarders and customs brokers, to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery of customer orders.
  • Coordinate with Safety and Regulatory departments to ensure that all domestic and international shipments and associated documentation comply with relevant safety, transportation, customs, and trade regulations.
  • Serve as a customer advocate by managing communication with Sales and other departments to proactively address customer needs and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding products, services, and other business functions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve customer order issues, track shipments, and expedite orders as needed, both domestically and internationally.

  • Knowledge of Incoterms® and hazardous materials (HazMat) requirements
  • Understanding of import/export regulations, shipping, and logistics best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Flexibility to occasionally work beyond established hours
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in customer service, account management, or order processing required.
  • Sales experience is not required, as this role does not involve sales or business development.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in international/domestic shipping and logistics – strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle / JDE preferred
  • SalesForce (SFDC) Experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Other

  • This is a hybrid role with the majority of time expected to be spent onsite at our Cincinnati, OH HQ.  Relocation services will not be offered for this role. 
  • Work hours: Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM.
