Job description

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter/Designer to join our collaborative design team. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys translating design concepts into precise, buildable documentation, and contributing throughout the design and construction process.

You will work on high-end residential projects both locally and internationally, coordinating closely with architects, designers, consultants, and contractors.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Produce detailed architectural drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Prepare and issue Design Development and Construction Document sets.
  • Translate design intent into clear, accurate, and constructible drawing packages.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, engineering, MEP, interior design, and consultant documents.
  • Communicate confidently with building inspectors, planning departments, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Apply knowledge of New York and New Jersey or applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and residential construction standards.
  • Support construction administration, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals and shop drawings.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, finish schedules, material schedules, drawing logs, and other project documentation.
  • Help identify coordination issues and resolve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute ideas, technical expertise, and thoughtful solutions during internal design reviews.

What You Bring

  • Three to five years of professional experience with a high-end residential architecture or design firm.
  • An associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • A strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, detailing, and documentation standards.
  • Experience preparing coordinated Design Development and Construction Document sets.
  • Familiarity with building codes and approval processes in New York and New Jersey.
  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables.
  • A reliable, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work.

Additional Skills That Are a Plus

  • Experience with Rhino, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling and visualization software.
  • Construction administration experience on high-end residential projects.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, fabricators, and specialty consultants.
