Staff Commercial Product Manager, Trucking

Waabi

Dallas, TX โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Re-posted 23 days ago

Job description

Waabi, founded by AI visionary Raquel Urtasun, is the leader in Physical AI. With a world-class team, we're unlocking the next era of autonomous transportation with technology that's powering commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis. Waabi is backed by and partners with world leaders in AI, automotive, logistics, and deep tech.
ย
With offices in Toronto, San Francisco, Dallas, and Pittsburgh, Waabi is growing quickly and looking for diverse, innovative and collaborative candidates who want to impact the world in a positive way. To learn more visit: www.waabi.ai

About the Role

Waabi's Commercial Product team defines and delivers the end-to-end commercial product that makes autonomous trucking deployable, scalable, and valuable to customers. We sit between autonomy, operations, business development, and customers, turning driverless capability into a real-world product that can be launched, sold, operated, and scaled.

We are hiring a Staff Commercial Product Manager to own critical commercial product workstreams that bring the Waabi Driver to market. This person will define the operating models, service capabilities, partner workflows, and customer-facing product requirements required to bring the Waabi Driver to market and scale it from commercial pilots into a broader autonomous trucking network.

This is not a traditional software PM role. You will help define how autonomous trucking commercialization works in the real world: how trucks launch and land, how missions are monitored, how exceptions are handled, how customers are onboarded, how partners integrate, how sites are qualified, and how the product scales.

What You'll Do

You will own high-impact commercial product workstreams end-to-end. Near-term areas of focus may include Command Center / fleet oversight, Life of a Load (end-to-end service delivery), launch and land operations, AV hubs and customer launch sites, Waabi Services (maintenance, inspections, roadside, data offload, mission support, customer operations), partner and ecosystem integration, and pilot-to-scale playbooks.

Across those workstreams, you will:

  • Define the "how" behind novel autonomous trucking challenges through process mapping, operating model design, requirements definition, and cross-functional alignment.

  • Translate customer, operations, autonomy, and business needs into clear product requirements and deployment plans.

  • Build structured frameworks for site readiness, service design, partner integration, customer onboarding, launch readiness, and operational scalability.

  • Build repeatable pilot-to-scale playbooks that move customers, lanes, and sites from pilot to qualified, mature, and driverless-ready deployments.

  • Lead cross-functional workstreams with autonomy, operations, engineering, business development, safety, legal, and external partners.

  • Drive workshops with internal teams and external partners, including agenda design, decision framing, progress tracking, and follow-through.

  • Identify key tradeoffs across customer value, autonomy readiness, operational complexity, cost, speed, and long-term scalability.

  • Inform partnership requirements and operating models with OEMs, customers, service providers, and facility partners, in close partnership with BD.

  • Produce executive-ready decision memos, operating playbooks, and product artifacts for your workstreams.

  • Work closely with engineering and autonomy teams to understand technical constraints, risks, readiness levels, and product implications.

  • Communicate clearly with technical, operational, commercial, and executive audiences.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means you have helped Waabi move from promising autonomous capability to a commercially deployable trucking product. Specifically, you will have:

  • Turned ambiguous commercial problems into clear product requirements, operating models, and execution plans.

  • Created scalable playbooks that reduce friction for future customers, lanes, sites, and partners.

  • Helped internal teams make faster, better trade-off decisions.

  • Built trust with operations, autonomy, engineering, commercial teams, and external partners.

  • Improved Waabi's ability to launch, operate, support, and scale driverless trucking missions.

  • Created artifacts and systems that become foundational to Waabi's commercial deployment model.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years in product management, operations, strategy, or program leadership in a complex technical/operational environment (autonomous vehicles, trucking, freight, logistics, robotics, or other physical-AI deployment)

  • Demonstrated experience standing up an operating model from scratch in a physical-world business - services + workflows + tools, not just software

  • Track record of designing, launching, or scaling complex B2B products, services, programs, or operating models

  • Strong systems thinking and first-principles judgment - able to break ambiguous problems into clear frameworks, requirements, decisions, and execution plans

  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives without formal authority

  • Executive-grade written and verbal communication

  • High EQ, low ego, and bias toward ownership and action

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with B2B enterprise customers, strategic partnerships, OEMs, or service provider ecosystems

  • Experience designing operational processes, customer onboarding flows, service models, or scaled deployment playbooks

  • Zero-to-one product or program experience at an early-stage or scaling startup

  • Direct experience in autonomous trucking, freight tech, or AV commercialization (vs. adjacent physical-AI domains)

  • Track record of owning end-to-end outcomes, not just deliverables (e.g., business unit, product line, or service area ownership).

Nice to have

  • Experience working with internal or outsourced operations teams
  • Experience standing up or scaling a Command Center, NOC, fleet operations function, or similar 24/7 operating environment
  • MBA
