What You Can Expect

Provides technical and administrative guidance to Metrology, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Vendors for the measurement of medical devices. Coordinates inspection planning and inspection method development for new and existing products and processes. Identifies and solves problems pertaining to the measurement of product and processes. Responsible for managing all metrology activities required to support the manufacture of medical devices.

How You'll Create Impact
  • Manages metrology personnel that may include a staff of metrology supervisors, engineers, technicians, and clerks.
  • Formulate, write, and maintain procedures, specifications, and standards for the inspection of Zimmer Biomet products including, but not limited to, calibration methods, gauge design and automated inspection methods.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the calibration program for all inspection tools and gauges to comply with site and global procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Develop and administer effective data collection and reporting system to meet regulatory requirements and managementinformation needs.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams as the metrology representative for product and process defect prevention and correction.
  • Drives metrology performance to meet overall site objectives as defined by established KPIs/Metrics.
  • Drives continuous improvement in the key competencies of Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Productivity.
  • Develops and grows organization's capabilities in Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma and Business Continuity Planning.

Your Background

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Technology, Science or Business
  • 6-8 years related experience with 3 to 5 years of management experience in engineering, operations or related field.
  • Quality discipline certification (e.g., CQA, CQE, CQM, etc.).
  • Experience in dealing with representatives from Food and Drug Administration or other regulatory agencies.
  • Quality Engineering Certification (ASQ).
  • Advanced Degree (ex. Masters).
