What You'll Do:
  • Safe and Efficient Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles, including but not limited to, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and lugger trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
  • Route Planning: Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
  • 2-5 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Experience pulling doubles a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Ability to strap own load
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Schedule:
  • Five days a week, day shift, Monday through Friday. Weekends off for a work-life balance.
