Job description

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately processing and maintaining payroll records, employee compensation changes, benefits deductions, and related employment documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to resolve employee payroll questions professionally and efficiently.

Essential Duties

Compiles payroll data including hours worked, sales volume, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation.

Calculates and processes payroll deductions including taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other authorized deductions.

Updates payroll records for compensation changes, promotions, transfers, tax elections, insurance coverage, and other employee changes.

Computes wages and deductions, reviews payroll for accuracy, and posts information to payroll records.

Processes payroll accurately and on schedule, including direct deposits and other authorized payment methods.

Audits payroll prior to finalization and identifies and resolves discrepancies.

Maintains accurate records of PTO, vacation, sick leave, and other applicable paid or unpaid leave.

Prepares periodic reports related to earnings, payroll taxes, deductions, and other payroll activity.

Prepares and maintains hiring, termination, and other employment-related documentation, including required COBRA notices.

Maintains vacation and sick-day eligibility records.

Processes employee insurance forms and coordinates insurance payments with the Office Manager.

Responds to employee payroll questions and researches and resolves discrepancies promptly, professionally, and respectfully.

Maintains confidentiality of employee compensation, benefits, tax, and personal information.

Maintains organized and accurate payroll records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.

Maintains a professional appearance and organized work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.
