  • Experience in forging or heavy manufacturing environments


The successful Director of Metallurgy will provide strategic leadership for the organization's quality systems and metallurgical engineering functions, ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This leader will oversee Quality, Inspection, Metallurgical Engineering, and technical quality activities while partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve manufacturing performance, reduce cost of poor quality, and strengthen customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality, Inspection, and Metallurgical Engineering functions to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance
  • Drive improvements in quality performance by reducing defects, scrap, rework, and customer escapes
  • Develop high-performing technical teams through coaching, talent development, and succession planning
  • Oversee Quality Management Systems, audits, certifications, and compliance with industry and customer requirements
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve process capability, manufacturing performance, and operational excellence
