Summary/Objective:
We are looking for a welder - fitter. This person should be an intermediate to advanced welder able to weld in position and out of position including overhead, vertical up, and vertical down. This person should also have experience and understanding of the concepts of fitting and squaring weldments in their proper position for our weld out team to complete. This person should be excellent at reading and understanding drawings / blueprints.
Selected applicants will be required to use heavy metal fitting techniques that will include the use of cranes, come along's, clamps, etc. As you prove your proficiency of the skills taught to you and meet the associated practical work requirements you will be rewarded with increased wages and further challenged and trained on skills of increasing difficulty.
Typical Welder - Fitter Activities - Read and review prints. Identify and confirm the accuracy material types and specification. Work with supervisor to modify or adjust fitting technique to accommodate to out of specification materials or initiate appropriate rework as needed.
In and out of position MIG welding, Assorted hand tool operation, Material handling, Material identification, Material preparation (grinding, beveling, surface cleaning, etc.), Quality Control Inspections, and general factory organization and upkeep.
