Job description

Job Summary:
BCT Partners is a management consulting firm focused on solving complex social problems through data analytics and innovative solutions. They are seeking a Data Management Specialist to support data management, reporting, and workflow tracking for Head Start and Early Head Start grant recipients, ensuring data accuracy and quality for informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Perform data validation, cleansing, standardization, and quality assurance activities to maintain accurate and reliable datasets.
• Review, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and duplicate records across multiple systems and repositories.
• Maintain and manage metadata, records, and documentation in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and data governance standards.
• Support the implementation and enforcement of data management best practices, standards, and workflows.
• Utilize Excel, Smartsheet, and other data management tools to organize, track, analyze, and report on data-related activities.
• Conduct basic SQL queries to validate data, generate reports, and support data analysis activities.
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of document management systems and electronic records repositories.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, data dictionaries, logs, and reporting materials.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve data issues, and improve data management processes.
• Support records retention and compliance initiatives by ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of organizational records.
• Monitor data quality metrics and recommend corrective actions or process improvements where necessary.
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of sensitive information in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audits, reviews, and data governance initiatives as required.
• Perform these and other reasonable tasks as assigned by management in support of BCT’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3 years of relevant post-baccalaureate professional experience in data management, records management, metadata management, document management, or related fields.
• Working knowledge of data governance principles, data lifecycle management, and records management standards.
• Experience performing data quality assurance, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation activities.
• Familiarity with metadata management concepts and best practices.
• Experience using document management systems and electronic records management platforms.
• Basic SQL skills with the ability to run queries and validate data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate to various audiences when speaking and in writing.
• Must be able to communicate, collaborate and interact with colleagues in a remote work environment; must participate in virtual meetings, appear on camera as needed, and contribute to meeting content as required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Smartsheet, including data analysis, tracking, reporting, and management functions.
