Job description

TITLE: Senior Exchange Automation Engineer (Messaging)
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA - hybrid
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 3+ month Contract to Hire - W2 only - sorry no C2C

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain messaging infrastructure 
  • Troubleshoot complex messaging issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online environments.
  • 70% coding and project work, 30% support
  • Administer Proofpoint email security solutions including TRAP, TAP, EFD, SER, and POD.
  • A core expectation of this position is the ability to build automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and Power Automate to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enable scalable operations.
  • Participate in on-call support for critical messaging systems.
  • Collaborate with various teams to support incident resolution and operational improvements.

Requirements:

  • Experience administering Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online in hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Proofpoint technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and familiarity with APIs or coding concepts.
  • Git, code repositories
  • Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert in messaging.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with email security best practices, phishing defense, and incident response.
  • Experience improving monitoring, alerting, and reporting for messaging platforms.
  • Mentoring or guidance experience for junior administrators.
  • Jira and Agile

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $58.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
