Job description

Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Respective State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:Premium Night Shift Sign On Bonus:Graduate Nurse $10,000Experienced Nurse $13,000Cardiac Med Intermediate RN36 hours per week, NightsMercy Hospital JeffersonFestus, MO 63028

We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit or PCU. Our unit is an intermediate unit that is a step down from our intensive care but a step above med/surg as far as patient acuity

Cardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.

No vents. - Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow ) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.

Fast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department--busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.

Requires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications:

- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
